Well after 28 weeks of coming here religiously I can't say enough amazing things about Fancy Sushi! Enough to call them my family, I have made such great friends with everyone there! Always the moment I walk in I am always given VIP treatment! I always sit at the sushi bar where I love catch up with the chefs and watch them create all the art of food that continuously wows me every time! By now they know I love salmon skin so I am always so happy when they surprise me with a salmon skin appetizer! It's so delicious with fresh cucumber and tossed in a light sweet and spicy sauce! It is such a wonderful treat! It is always hard to not want every roll on the menu! I have almost had them all! You always know that you are getting the highest quality seafood so you can't go wrong with anything you chose. If you like spicy rolls the Fire Tuna or Crazy Gurl is a go to! They are phenomenal! The sweet mango roll is always a must try too! They also always have two rolls that they run for features that are always great to try! I always let anyone who enjoys sushi know that if they have not experienced Fancy Sushi then they don't know what they are missing! The service to their guests is 110%! The sushi is the best you will ever have. What place do you know that uses only flown in fresh filets of fish, cuts and serves it never frozen! The tuna is flown in fresh, deep purple and melts in your mouth! It is a thing of beauty! And even if you arent a sushi lover their extensive menu is filled with entrees that I have also ordered and enjoyed time after time! The shumai are so delightful! As well as the Goyza! Their hibachi entrees are perfectly prepared from the kitchen with a huge array of fresh vegetables, rice and noodles with whatever protein of your liking! Please if you are ever thinking sushi and you have your normal place you go to, next time take a trip to Fancy Sushi because you will, I guarantee you will find that you will never go anywhere else! I came her on a recommendation from a friend...well, I'd say very average sushi at best! The rolls were sloppily made and bland, and so was the ginger dressing on my salad. Also, the wait staff and sushi chefs had several loud conversations in what I think was Chinese. I'd say that's not very professional behavior!

Hands down this place has the freshest and best tasting sushi in the Jax Beach area and I've tried them all! I've had sashimi and traditional sushi rolls at Fancy Sushi and both have been top notch. Don't let the fact that the restaurant is located in kind of a run down strip mall discourage you. The restaurant is very nice inside. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive; the prices are reasonable; there is a wide selection of sushi choices and the food tastes great! What more could you ask for?! Get here early though because the restaurant is not huge and it definitely can fill up fast on the weekends. If you're looking for sushi, check this place out!

Needed an excuse to get out of the house and wanted to satisfy my sushi jones at the same time. Fancy Sushi fit the bill. I arrived around lunch time, they weren't packed but they were definitely busy. I was quickly sat in a booth and began to peruse the sushi menu. For today's order I went with the Hwy 17 roll and the Jax roll. I also ordered two flying fish egg sushi pieces. My clear soup arrived quickly and there wasn't too long a wait for my sushi even though they had a steady lunch take out crowd while I was there as well. I always eat my flying fish egg pieces first and was slightly disappointed when they fell apart in my hand. They made my plate look like the beginnings of a war zone. However the Jax roll restored my faith. The fish was fresh and the roll disappeared quickly. I could have used a little more spice on the spicy tuna, but it might help if I didn't cover it shrimp sauce, so I won't fault the restaurant until I try the spicy tuna roll itself. The Hwy 17 roll is smoked salmon with krab stick and cream cheese. All of this is deep fried and topped with shrimp sauce. I advise sharing this roll with someone or making this the only roll you order, as it's a lot. Bonus star for the bottle of shrimp sauce they brought to the table. I'm excited to have another lunch place in the Beaches Town Center area when I'm using it as my office away from home and plan to make another visit to Fancy Sushi soon.

By far the best sushi place in Jacksonville! We have searched for great sushi in jax for years and this place blew us away. Their service is unmatched, they learn your names, and are super friendly and attentive. We became regulars the first time we went. Haley is an awesome server and always brings us a whole bottle of sriracha when we get there. The rolls are AMAZING. None of the garbage we've tried at other places. Fresh, well-crafted sushi. The Fire Tuna roll is BOMB- by far our favorite roll. The chef even sends us out random free samples of other sushi rolls. For premium sushi it is moderately priced, and the craft rolls are huge. Side notes- on birthdays, they get really into it and play an awesomely loud Korean pop birthday song- a must do for a fun birthday dinner.

My last meal in Jacksonville, I figured I'd stick with something seafood based. While being over in Atlantic Beach, I saw that Fancy Sushi was rated relatively highly, so off to Fancy Sushi I went. After grabbing myself a Sapporo my server provided me with a dish of fake crab meat covered in cheese and fried. This was then covered in various sweet and salty sauces that were quite good. I was then given a slightly different version of the tofu soup that is customary for a sushi restaurant. This seemed to have more onion that usual and it was quite good. As my meal I decided to try the sweet heart roll, yellowtail sushi, unagi sushi (cooked eel), and ikura sushi (salmon roe). Overall, all of the fish was extremely fresh and that came off through the taste and texture of all the sushi. The sweet heart roll was a creamy and enjoyable roll. With spicy tuna and avocado filling the roll and tuna wrapping the outside, this roll was extremely enjoyable and not overwhelming with textures and flavors like some rolls can. The yellowtail sushi was tender and delicious. The unagi seemed to be more tender than I've usually experienced which made all the more delicious. The ikura was salty and briny, a bite sized piece of the sea (also delicious). If anyone is interested in having sushi within the Jax beach area, I'd highly suggest Fancy Sushi.

They should really change the name. I have had a lot of sushi in my life and this was far from fancy. Many of their specialty rolls would be considered a basic roll at other sushi bars. The atmosphere was decent and the location was nice but the food is what dropped the ball on this one. The rolls were not rolled properly and fell apart easily and they simply didn't look like any effort had been put into them.

Fancy sushi is wonderful! the sushi is fresh, awesome prices and portions, and the service is efficient. the sushi chefs really care about their product and you can tell they make each roll with a passion. the result: an piece of edible art! as soon as we walked in and sat down, we were given an appetizer of tempura krab, miso soup, and an entire container of shrimp sauce!! this is how you keep your customers happy. before our food came, we were served a ginger salad (came with the entree) and a plate of edamame on the house! very very nice of them. for our meal, my boyfriend and I ordered a 'fancy love boat' for my birthday (60$). it comes with 12 pieces of sushi, 12 pieces of sashimi, a California roll, a speciality roll (it came with the Green Dragon roll but we subbed for a crunchy roll), and a salmon roll. It was my first time having raw sushi and I enjoyed it very much. we could tell that the fish was fresh and prepared well. their sushi rice is seasoned so deliciously, too! our waitress was kind and courteous and answered all my questions. she also overheard that it was my birthday and brought us a tempura ice cream for dessert on the house! this place rocks and I highly recommend it if you want some awesome quality sushi. we will be back next time I'm in jacksonville!!

I was thrilled to see that there was a sushi joint opening up in Atlantic Beach. We always get our take-out sushi (which is commonly the only time we order it) from Ichiban in Jacksonville Beach. Ichiban is fine, and their takeout is always quick and correct, but it's a longer haul than I'd prefer for a quick night take-out. I am always skeptical of trying new sushi places around town because most of them are very underwhelming and the fish quality varies from day to day. I decided to give Fancy Sushi a try when I was really not in the mood to drive all the way to Jacksonville Beach. And I'm so glad I did! This is our new go-to take-out sushi place. I usually order the tuna roll, california roll, and the clear soup. The tuna is always fresh and the california (which is a pretty standard, boring roll) is amazing here! The avocado is so much fresher and softer than at other local places, and the rice is always perfectly cooked. Their clear soup is pretty standard, but no complaints there. We started ordering other items here since we liked the sushi so much. We ordered hibachi and sashimi bowl. Their hibachi was great... I got chicken and it was so much more tender than I've had at Ichiban. I would probably give them 5 stars but I've never actually eaten in the restaurant, and our take-out has been messed up a couple times (they forget to put in shrimp sauce, soy sauce, or the crunchy things for the clear soup). Definitely make sure your order is correct before you leave. Although I assume they will work out these kinks. Definitely worth a try for those who love sushi!

There isn't much I can say about this place in few words except that my wife and I have dropped in once a week almost every week since we first tried it (its been like 6 or 7 weeks). At this point the sushi chefs know us, the wait staff knows us, and management knows us. Everything is executed to perfection, and if its not, they will happily remake any roll to ensure you're happy. And yes, we have already decided to return this weekend.

We have been here a few times and are never disappointed. The smoked salmon is tender and melts in your mouth. The hibachi chicken, katsu chicken and chicken tempura are all excellent as well. Sushi platters are works of art!

The chef is an artist, and the sushi was as good as it looks. The best sushi I've had in Jacksonville. Try the highway 17 roll, along with all your favorites, you won't be disappointed. Sushi was awesome with great presentation and extremely attentive service! When we sat down we were offered a small plate from the chef, which was delicious. They had quite a few rolls there that are unique on their restaurant that were really good. Was a little bummed they ran out of uni but, can't wait to go back and get some!

There is nothing I would change about my lunch here. The appetizer (beef skewers) and sushi were top notch and well priced (rolls include rainbow, Alaska, and two specialty rolls). The fish was fresh, and the flavors were amazing and they did not over sauce- which I've found to be an issue at other places. Do not pass this place up!

Solid sushi joint close to the house. The rolls are rolled tight and full as well as the service is is with a smile. The speciality rolls list offer enough to satisfy most every sushi lover. I've ordered take out previously and order was ready quickly and without error. Eating in usually involves a sample of something off the menu which works for me as I'm a sucker for free food.

You will love this place. The atmosphere/lighting is very cool (would be cooler if they played Japanese music, though, instead of weird old pop music lol). The service is soooooooo nice. The food is a bit salty, but that's the usual at Jap restaurants, imo. It tasted the freshest I've ever had for Jap food, though, and WELL worth the visit. Prices are awesome for this type of food, too!

We went to fancy sushi for dinner tonight. It was busy so we sat at the sushi bar. Our service was great, multiple servers checked on us consistently through out the meal and we were well taken care of. When you sit down they bring out complimentary soup for you, and then they bring out complimentary deep fried crab appetizer for the table to share which is delicious and much appreciated. It is really a nice touch, unique thing for a sushi restaurant to do. Sushi was really good. The salmon was so yummy. We loved the Crazy roll, absolutely perfect. Jax roll was really yummy too. Service was quick. Overall awesome experience and would definitely recommend checking them out. Cheers!

A-MA-ZING! This is by far the best sushi place in Jacksonville and the beaches. We have been quite a few times, and they always load you up with free stuff. Last time we went, we literally got 3 free sushi rolls (including a spicy tuna roll which was perfection) and some free deep fried Oreos for the kiddos. Their clear soup is great, not too salty, and their ginger salad dressing is something that I wish I could eat every day. I have to admit that I wasn't a huge fish fan, only because I can't stand the fishy taste or smell, but everything I've ordered here has been completely fresh. Their tuna sashimi is to die for, and not to mention the Rock and Roll and the Dynamite Roll. We order those every time. My son got the chicken hibachi, and it was so delicious. Every employee is very nice, and you don't feel rushed to get out like some other places. The sushi chefs behind the bar are super friendly and are always smiling. I would absolutely recommend going to eat here!

We took our grandson,Jeffrey, here for his ninth birthday. He recommended the restaurant to us. We hadn't heard anything about it before. The food was really great just as he said it would be. He ordered a fantastic chicken hibachi and we ordered several sushi rolls, all of which were to die for. The decor was very classy and the restaurant was faultlessly clean. It was very busy but faster than any other sushi restaurant we've ever been to. The only problem were the placemats which were cheap and kept moving around on the table. We will come back often. The staff presented Jeffrey with chocolate ice cream fried in tempura with a candle on top. Everyone in the restaurant sang happy birthday. It was a great evening!

Atlantic/Neptune Beach needed a great sushi place & now we have one! This truly is fancy sushi. They have beautifully decorative plates with hand crafted radish flowers, wonderful service & delicious sushi rolls. Prices are reasonable & they also have great lunch specials. Everyone is so warm and welcoming! I've been here a few times since they've opened with my husband and it's like the staff remembers us when we walk in. We always try something different off the sushi menu (have not tried the grill menu yet) Bonus: Fancy Sushi has coupons in the mint!

Two words: "HOLIDAY ROLL" You're welcome! One of the staff brought us a complimentary Holiday Roll from the sushi bar after we had placed our order. 5 STARS on that one!!!! Fancy Sushi is a wonderful little Japanese food restaurant right off of the main thorough way through Jacksonville Beach. Easily accessible parking lot with plenty of parking available. The décor was quaint with clean booths and tables with a sushi bar as the main focal point of the restaurant. A lot of red that is offset by earthy embellishments and adequate lighting, which is inviting. Very attentive wait staff who will snap up your finished bowls and plates as soon as you've moved them to the side. At the same time, the wait staff would ask us if they could bring another fresh, hot green tea -- this is a BONUS in our eyes as the hot tea was exactly that, HOT! Green tea goes great with sushi. Best deal for lunch are the Pick 2 or Pick 3 sushi lunches: Pick 2 (or Pick 3) gives you about 10 choices of either cooked (like crabmeat or panko fried shrimp) or raw sushi rolls. Hubs and I made oinkers out of ourselves and each chose the Pick 3 and had 6 different sushi rolls, deliciously displayed on large fancy plates. Our favorite: Fried Shrimp roll, which had an extra dose of the crunchy bits in it. Yum Yum! I also had a hankering for some Katsu so we also ordered chicken katsu, which had Hubs reminding me that I haven't made any in a long, long time. Glad he liked the selection, which came with stir fried veggies, a side of rice and a side dish of Tonkatsu Sauce for dipping. Saturday after 1:00PM was when Hubs and I ate lunch. The restaurant was not crowded and had a steady flow of customers. All in all, the sushi was yummy and we will be back to try some of the other dishes off of the menu.

Decent sushi and service in convenient location a block from the Town Center restaurants. We literally walked there from our hotel. The restaurant if nicely decorated and holds about 20 tables. Miso soup and a sample of one of the rolls was given to us gratis. The specialty roll was decent. The raw fish tasted fresh. All is all a solid choice.

I got the "jaguar" roll. It has eel and avocado. Eel tastes just like it looks. It was alright nothing special. When you eat sushi the best places make it in front of you. They dont here unless you sit at the bar. Plus the older guys make it waaay better. Experience counts in sushi making.

I wish this experience I had wasn't true, but sadly it is: My roommates and I ordered sushi to go as we usually do about once a week from here. We had a friend visiting from out of town as well so we ordered quite a bit of sushi as well as some fried rice and soup. We arrived at the restaurant to pick up our order and a waitress looked at an order sitting behind the counter and then walked away, I'm assuming to get the rest of the order or to ask someone a question about it. The manager then walked up and proceeded to ring us up, handed us the bag, and we proceeded to walk to our car. The next thing we know, the waitress is running out after us, yelling at us for taking the order, telling us it wasn't ours, and asking us why we took the order. The manager came out and was very nice and apologized for giving us the wrong order. The waitress, I kid you not, began yelling at the manager for giving us the wrong order. At this point, my roommate was LIVID, and I was at a loss for words. We went back inside and the owner began to credit my roommates' card the difference in the cost of the orders (ours cost less than the order we were charged for), however the waitress continued with her attitude and dirty looks and would not leave the manager and my party be. Our order was not ready so my roommate told the manger to credit back the order and that we were taking our business elsewhere. We left, and, I can't make this up, the manager calls 15 minutes later to tell me to come back and get our order because we should not be wasting food. Their sushi is great, the atmosphere in the establishment is very nice, however I will NEVER take my business there again after being treated that way. The level of unprofessionalism exhibited by the staff was unacceptable and embarrassing. Delivering great customer service is just as important as the quality of food being served at any establishment in my opinion.

This is the only Yelp review I have ever written. This restaurant is amazing beyond words. I haven't had a better restaurant experience anywhere else. I have gone here about 3 times a week over the summer. First of all, let me tell you that the sushi is FANTASTIC. It's made a good speed even when the place is busy. It's never been anything but great sushi. It's also decently priced. They have rolls that are super cheap and specialty rolls that are a little more. They always give you a free sample roll and if you're new, tell them! You get free edamame. Is it your anniversary or birthday? Tell them! We've gotten fried oreos and ice cream for free! The staff is amazing as well. My boyfriend and I became regulars here. They remembered our names and even our orders. They knew about our addiction to shrimp sauce and always made sure we had a bottle of it. The staff is friendly and very helpful. It's been a month since my boyfriend and I moved away from Jacksonville. We are still trying to find a good sushi place that can come close to Fancy Sushi's awesomeness. Nothing compares and every time we try something new we go, "Still not as good as Fancy Sushi..." On our last night in Jax we had our last meal at Fancy Sushi. At the end, they came out with an elaborate Thank You! plate with ice cream for us. It was so touching. I miss this place so much and can't say enough good things about it. Definitely check out this great sushi spot!

Pricing was decent. Had the lunch menu. Hibachi shrimp was over cooked and veggies were soaked in soy sauce and I normally love a good amount of salty food. Sushi was average. We were old enough to be the parents of all the other diners at this restaurant. The service was over the top and we felt like respected elders. The food was good with a great presentation. The atmosphere was comfortable and interesting for a strip-mall location. There are lots of great restaurants in the area, but I will be sure to stop at this one when I'm in the neighborhood.

stopped in Jacksonville on a trip. found this on yelp. wonderful. great staff. excellent food. good portions. would fare well anywhere. exterior is strip mall. interior very comfortable

Would give this place one star, but the manager Ryan was too nice. Ordered 4 rolls, all of them tasted like old, tough salmon and the waitress we had... Well, she was a word I won't write on here. The service (except for Ryan) was 1/5 stars, so was the food. Gas station sushi is probably better than this place. The edamame was also so over cooked that it was falling out of the pods, and was mushy. As for people saying it's the best sushi in the area.. Seriously, those reviews were probably written by the owners. I will never come back here again. Bleh.

My wife and I have eaten about every sushi place at the beach and this has no doubt become our favorite. The servers are unbelievably nice and attentive. They bring you out samples of different things to try before you order. The sushi is very well done and very fresh. Can't wait to go back.

I'm what you would call a sushi snob and this place was amazing. Prices are very reasonable and the rolls are big and fulfilling. Everything we ordered tasted fresh and yummy. The service was superb. The wait staff came to fill our drinks and check on us constantly. I've been twice already and have refer friends who have all loved it.

Everything was absolutely delicious, fresh and beautifully presented. The wait staff was very courteous, pleasant and attentive. I was extremely pleased and think it is by far the best, freshest, most delicious sushi at the beach. The restaurant itself was clean and inviting.

Hands down the best sushi restaurant at the beach! The food is amazing, they are very quick, and the staff are the friendliest and most helpful of anywhere you will go. Do yourself a favor and go to Fancy Sushi!
